Diane von Furstenberg - Addison patchwork tote + Adrienne jacquard tote

Colour blocking is key for this season and what better way to carry it off than with this over sized Addison tote from DVF. The use of burgundy-brown, dark green and tan pony skins combined as a patchwork really make a strong statement. Ivanka Trump - Laser-cut Garnet tote

The Garnet tote from Ivanka Trump's collection was one of our favourite purchases from Macy's whilst we were in NYC. The gorgeous intricate lace inspired laser-cut pattern is really striking and enhanced by the combination of the black and gold materials used together. It's a real statement piece which will add a bit of sparkle to your winter looks! We also love the double knotted handles with gold handle fittings. Lara Bohinc - Animal print clutch

With the party season nearly upon us we're on the look out for the latest clutch bags to add that extra glam to our evening looks. We came across this uber luxe statement piece from Slovenian jewellery and accessories designer, Lara Bohinc. We've always been a big fan of her jewellery which is always unique and very inspiring. Bohinc's handbags don't disappoint either with special attention to signature metal work and use of premium materials. This leopard print pony clutch stood out for us, with it's distinctive metal casing on the flap edge and rectangular linked chain. Collection Prive - Natural leather and wool Buccy bag

This season we've been seeing a lot of the 'mixed media' trend. This has been done in a number of different ways; from combinations of exotic skins and textures to patent trims and metallic's. Collection Prive have created the Buccy bag which combines leather and wool and is very chic. We love the tonal colours and the subtle contrast piped trim. The leather covered wooden bar top finished with gold end caps really make the shape stand out. It is also available in a sleek black colourway which can be seen here.

Jaeger Catwalk Belted Tote

It's been a busy few days at THP HQ! On our travels around sunny central London this weekend we came across this stand out style from Jaeger's AW11 collection. We're big fans of the colour block trend and love this olive and chocolate combo, as seen on the catwalk. The stitch detailing in place of traditional handle tabs is a nice minimal clean cut design feature. It is finished off with an oversized branded padlock fitting which adds a finishing touch to this understated chic bag. Here is one of our current top 5 picks from this season! We love all things DVF as her collections are always distinctive and innovative. The use of mixed materials, textures and prints really make this a unique statement bag. It features zebra-print calf hair, a geometric patterned jacquard flap, chain handle trimmed with leather, along with an over sized tassel detail. Loewe - Amazona Arm Candy

For a flash of colour this season, Loewe - the Spanish luxury house brings us the Amazona in this vibrant palette.  The elegant shape was born in the 1970's and has become and iconic statement piece for the brand. We've learnt it takes 10-12 hours to make each bag by their master artisans in the supple calf-leather. The interiors are lined with soft napa-leather which really adds to the luxe finish of this bag. We love the simplicity of this classic shape with the subtle embossed branding and leather key tag. Reiss - Bleecker Shoulder

We were on the look out for an elegant classic shoulder bag and fell in love with the Bleecker at Reiss. The bag is a good size for day to day use and features sleek hardware detailing which adds to the luxe feel of this style. Our favourite is the gorgeous honey colourway with contrast chocolate coloured snake textured leather trim. For those of you that want a true classic colour - the black comes in the snake texture all over. Further details can be found at their online store.

Burberry Prorsum - Hedwig Range

From all the new collections that have come out this season Burberry Prorsum definitely stands out for us. We really like the statement Hedwig range as worn by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley this week. We prefer the east west shoulder bag over the bowler as it's a more practical day shape. The detailing is very chic and as ever with Burberry their attention to quality and finish is impeccable. The bowler also comes in the forest green colourway below. You'll notice the subtle colour block in tonal shades and the over sized double tassels which add that finishing touch. Mary Portas & Radley Handbag Collaboration

Compton Medium Hand Held Tote Bag £299
We checked out the Mary Portas collection at House of Fraser in London's Oxford Street. The retail guru has launched her own lifestyle collection which includes a handbag range designed in conjunction with Radley, the British brand loved for it's distinctive leather bags. The concession felt a little bit different from the normal high street store experience with bellboys at your service, staff all trained to be your personal stylists, complementary coffee and an industrial feel store fit with exposed ceilings. It makes a change from the regular premium clean cut black and white  look we've become accustomed to. 

We've featured the above Compton Medium Hand Held Tote Bag as our top pick from the collection. We really like the croc textured leather with quirky little details. The tassels really add a to the individual look and feel to the style. It also features a handy mirror on the back of the embossed branded hang tag. The handle tabs also feature a leather covered bar on a metal fitting which is a nice touch. Check out the full collection at House of Fraser.

The classic quilted look is always a staple in every fashionista's wardrobe and we thought we'd feature two gorgeous options from Marc Jacobs. This style features double stitched quilting on a sleek saddle bag shape. The hammer textured lock really adds a little something different and we feel this will be a feature that catches on. We also love the linked metal mesh handle which has been intervwoven with leather. Which one of the two to go for is the question? You cant go wrong with the black leather classic but the camel toned suede is something a little different so it wins for us! :)
